ASSOCIATE PITCH COMPETITION

The CMC Associate Pitch Competition gives members hands-on experience with the full equity research process. Teams work together to select a stock, develop an investment thesis, build a financial model and valuation, and present their recommendation to a panel of judges.

 

How It Works

Teams consist of 4–6 associates. Members can form their own team or sign up individually and be placed with others. Each team will also work with a PA mentor who provides feedback throughout the process.

 

Teams will:

• Select a company and develop a clear investment thesis

• Research SEC filings, earnings calls, investor materials, and industry trends

• Build a financial model and valuation

• Identify catalysts, risks, and key assumptions

• Create and rehearse a professional stock pitch

• Present their recommendation and defend it during Q&A

 

The goal is to answer one central question: Why is the stock mispriced, and what could cause the market to recognize its value?Throughout the competition, associates develop practical skills in financial modeling, valuation, equity research, teamwork, presentation, and investment analysis while gaining experience similar to what is expected in equity research, investment banking, and asset management.
